Whilst Icelands PM Marries her Partner - New Australian PM Personally Thinks Marriage is ONLY for man + woman

Prime Minister Julia Gillard says she does not support legalising gay marriage in Australia.

Labor policy on gay marriage will remain the same under her prime ministership, Ms Gillard told Austereo show on Wednesday morning.

"We believe the marriage act is appropriate in its current form, that is recognising that marriage is between a man and a woman, but we have as a government taken steps to equalise treatment for gay couples," Ms Gillard said.

Asked if that was also her personal view, Ms Gillard said it was.

Comment: We had such hope that finally since Gough a leader had emerged with genuine social conscience. This is really sad news for a country that has so much going it for, yet fails to promote equality and progressive social policies. Australia may have it's first female PM, but being one of the boys sort of nullifies that milestone.

So, Julia Gillard doesn't believe in the man in the sky (so she is educated), yet holds on to the biblical held views of homosexuality.

Jeers to the personal view of homophobic politicians and their public policies.
