"True love. Well, it supposedly never runs smoothly. 28-year-old Sydneysider, Poppy and Anglo-Indian UK resident, Sandeep, aged 31, might well agree.

Searching 4 Sandeep, ABC1 on Thursday, November 13, at 9.30pm is their story. The two meet on-line, then decide to meet face to face. And that’s when the troubles begin. They are from very, very different backgrounds. But these two women are not to be easily put off from what could be a long-term, lasting, relationship. Candid and absorbing.

Concentrate on the story and ignore (if you can) the obsession both have with electronic gadgetry that can – and does – detract from the central theme. Soft, reflective moments are jarred by “jump-cuts” in video grabs that annoy and irritate those of us brought up with “proper” training in such areas of film and television.

Like true love, not every documentary runs smoothly…"
